Earlier in the year, Warner Bros. Pictures pushed back “Parasite” and “Snowpiercer” director Bong Joon-ho’s sci-fi thriller “Mickey 17” by nearly a year.
The Robert Pattinson-led film was originally scheduled for a March 29th release this year but is now slated for January 31st 2025. At the time it was said the project reportedly required more time in post-production.
The rumor has been that reshoots have occurred on the film and DanielRPK is reporting a dispute going on between Bong and Warner Bros. Pictures over the film’s final cut.

mElmt.parentNode.removeChild(mElmt);
return clearInterval(elmtInterval);

}, 20);

According to the scooper, the studio reportedly wants to release a more ‘accessible’ version of the $150 million-budget film – one that Bong disapproves of. That partly would explain reports that several versions of the film have test screened.
A trade report a while back suggesting that Warners was ‘less pumped’ about the film’s prospects was refuted by a rep who said at the time: “There is, of course, enthusiasm for it.”
The film follows Mickey, a disposable employee sent to colonise an ice world, and soon realises that his body can regenerate after death but with his memories still preserved.
Toni Collette, Mark Ruffalo, Steven Yeun and Naomi Ackie co-star in the film based on Edward Ashton’s novel. It marks Bong’s first feature since “Parasite” became the first non-English language movie to win best picture at the Oscars.
