Boasting a back-line that matches the same amps that oasis use, Oasish also use the same instruments as well. Indeed, the "Noel" uses either a Sunburst Gibson Les Paul, Cherry Red Gibson ES335 or the Union Jack Epiphone Supernova, the signature guitar that Noel helped design after appearing with one at the Maine Road show in Manchester in the mid 90's.

Eve of War

Friday 27th Feb 2015
7:30 pm

Trisha Lewis is Nanny Eve in this play written and directed by Peter John Cooper -a play of wit, sadness, melodrama and, sometimes, broad slapstick humour. It is suitable for all ages. When it was first performed in Oxford, The Oxford Mail said it was an “An astonishing piece infused with warmth and Melancholy.”

Little Arthur gazes from his nursery window trying to make sense of the mad world of the grown-ups beyond. It is September 1939, the eve of War and Nanny Cummins wants to keep the truth of the coming horror from Arthur.

“Eve of War - Little Arthur’s History of England” is a one woman show about the life of a Nanny and her charge in the nursery of a big house during the days and nights of September 1939. Nanny Cummins is more than a little eccentric and is definitely larger than life.  During the course of the play we gain a sense of Nanny’s past and her attitude to the looming conflict as she reads from the big history book that she keeps on the nursery shelf. From time to time she fortifies herself with a swig from her special medicine bottle. In the end Nanny knows she cannot keep the truth from her little Arthur and, instead, tries to make him understand what it might all mean. In a dramatic climax we come to understand the secret that Nanny herself has kept hidden all these years...

Two individual stories. Two lives connected by one moment.

A baby is abandoned on a deserted railway platform, there is a young woman who decides to give up her baby and an older woman who finds it. A decision that derails and changes the direction of both their lives.

2015. A re-opened heritage railway station. When Liz receives an unexpected message, she is presented with the chance to live a life she rejected decades ago. This could be her moment; this could be just what she’s been waiting for. But should she first reveal the secret she has kept for twenty-one years?

1994. A railway station facing closure. Catherine is eagerly waiting for her new life to begin but an unexpected visitor forces her towards an unfamiliar destination and a future she did not anticipate. Twenty-one years later, she returns to the same railway station and is confronted by the past she has turned her back on.

At the centre of both plays is Tom, the model railway enthusiast. Tom, who’s been reading other people’s letters. Tom who’s also Sam.

Using a range of theatrical styles and storytelling devices, this quirky and playful ensemble piece tells the story of our relationship to the past and to the future and the constantly changing nature of our hopes and dreams. The abandoned railway lines, heritage stations and derelict platforms of Hampshire’s railway history form the backdrop of this new play.
