Scale of Charges for Letting approved by Trustees
Note: These terms do not apply to incoming programmed professional arts provision which are dealt with on an individual basis. If you are a professional theatre company wishing to perform at the Mowlem, please contact us.
The standard hire charge is 30% of the gross Box Office receipts, with a minimum charge of £180 for each performance.
Performances with no admission charge or collection will be subject to a minimum charge of £150.
When there are four or more performances in one week the minimum charge is the above rate times the number of performances. There is no minimum charge for School productions.
The above charges are inclusive of ticket books, lighting operators, front of house staffing and daily Box Office facilities.
Hirers should be aware that there is sufficient lighting and sound equipment appropriate for the Theatre and adequate for most productions included in the charges.
VAT may be due on certain elements.
Rehearsals and Set-up

There may be additional staffing costs where rehearsals or get-in sessions exceed three hours or where work is undertaken on behalf of hirers.
Every session, and performance is under the supervision of the Mowlem Theatre Technicians and access to the theatre is expressly forbidden without their presence.

Ticket prices and performance times are to be negotiated with the Manager prior to the publication of any publicity. All ticket sales are to be through the Mowlem Box Office.
The Theatre will require a booking fee of £20 per performance and £5 per rehearsal which will be treated as a deposit against performance charges if paid before at the time confirmation of the booking and not less than 28 days before the performance.
